Big Brother
Carter has taken on the role of big brother to Micah. A few times today he got down next to Micah or leaned over to exchange kisses. (Yes, Micah is eating Carter's foot in this picture. At one point all three of us were laughing about it, but I wasn't quick enough to capture the laughing on film.)
Carter and I played outside sometimes while Micah was napping (it's a beautiful day!). Sometimes Carter insisted on holding the monitor; other times he was ok with me holding it, as long as he could take it and listen every now and then to make sure Micah was all right.

Day One
Today was our first day watching Carter. It went great! Carter was super in everything - playing, napping, eating, and helping with Micah. Micah did pretty well, too. He didn't eat much and had a really short nap in the afternoon, so he was crying when it was time to go home. Other than that, no problems!

Stats
Micah had his six month well-visit to the doctor today. He is now 27 inches (75th percentile) and 17 pounds, 6 ounces (50th percentile). I was hoping to get a green light for using the jogging stroller, but since it doesn't recline the doctor said to wait. I also asked the doctor his opinion on pacifiers (since I had originally hoped to eliminate it by 6 months). He said babies need to suck, and there's nothing wrong with letting him have it for well over a year. So, I guess I'll let that one go. :)
I bought Micah a waterbottle with a short, rubbery straw. I don't know that he's actually drinking much of the water, but he has a good time trying!

A little-known fact about Micah: He likes to put his pacifier in upside down. He thinks it makes him look tougher.

Micah has not yet decided in which sport he will pursue the olympic dream.

Olympic Obsessed
You all are very lucky that I pulled myself away from the tv to write a post today. I LOVE OLYMPICS!! After devoting several years of my life to competing and coaching gymnastics, that sport alone is like Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one. But it doesn't end there. I love it all! I don't even really care about who wins or loses, I just cheer for them all and hope that everyone can do their best. I'm not sure if DVR makes my addiction better or worse, but at least I can pause the tv to go take care of Micah...
We made it safely back from Indiana (obviously). Micah didn't sleep much in the car on either end of the trip, but he was only a little whiny.

Micah's friend Ally came over to play last night. They gave each other pointers on how to drive your parents crazy.

The Digest
Micah prefers higher-level reading.
I tried to tell him that it's not that kind of "digest."
