Minutiae

- Hannah climbed out of her crib this morning.
- Hannah pooped in the tub tonight.  Gross.
- Peanut butter frosting should be illegal (or at least highly restricted).
- Micah thinks "abley" is a word.  As in: "I am not abley reach the high shelf."

Yyyyyyyyeah!

Hannah has a habit of drawing out the "y" sound when she says "yeah".    The best one is at the end of the video.

I love that her hair is long enough for a ponytail!
This morning Micah played with Jackson and Hannah before school.  They started in the play kitchen, making a "lion cake" for Kayla.  Then Micah led them around the house on a trip (I believe they were going to Kayla's house.)  The game ended with a pile of pillows, blankets, and toys next to the couch.  And Micah and Jackson were "sleeping" in a laundry basket on the couch.

Post-Vacation

The Saturday after vacation was action-packed.  We went to our town's Easter egg hunt before heading over to celebrate Carter's 5th birthday.
His party had a really fun "Angry Birds" theme.  (If you don't know what Angry Birds is, ask someone younger than you.)  They had a pinata, and Meghan displayed her hidden talent as a face-painter.  Here they are throwing a rubber bird to try to knock down the pigs.

Then that evening the Hays hosted a egg hunt/potluck.  Since we had a warm-up at the town egg hunt that morning, our kids knew just what to do this time.

Today, sadly, Jackson stayed home because he is sick.  The bright side was that we didn't have to go home for naptime after school.  Instead I took Micah and Hannah to the park for a bike ride.  I was expecting to walk with Hannah while Micah rode ahead, but Hannah wanted to ride in the stroller.  Also, Micah has built up his stamina for both distance and speed on his bike.  Thus, I ended up going for a jog wearing jeans.

This is Micah's new "trick".  The shadow makes it difficult to see, but his front wheel is several inches off the ground.

Vacation

Sometimes when we have a major event (like this vacation), it takes me a while to write a post because I feel like there's so much to say that I don't know where to begin. Usually, the answer is just to keep it simple. :) So here's the bottom line: the kids did great, and we had a wonderful time.
Here they are watching a show at Nana's house before church on Sunday.  We had access to email in the main lobby, so Nana kept us updated (and kept me from worrying).

Here's the view from our balcony.  Our building was about 10 steps from the pool, which then led to the beach.

That's a real sunken ship! (and the sunrise behind clouds)
We spent most of our days under a cabana like this one.
Big news!  Scott now likes the beach!!  Give him shade and audio books and he's a happy man. (An attendant bringing drinks probably didn't hurt, either.)

Speaking of drinks, here's the swim-up bar in the pool.  We barely went to the pool, but I insisted on getting a drink there one day, just for the novelty of it.
