It's a baby....

....but not ours. :) Since our stubborn baby won't come out, her cousin decided to seize the opportunity. Mike and Laurie had a beautiful baby girl yesterday named Abigail Jane. For more pictures, you can check out their blog at frahers.blogspot.com.

Due Date

Yes, I'm still pregnant. And, no, nothing seems to be happening. I'm giving her until Labor Day to come out on her own, after that she'll be evicted. :) Physically I'm still doing fine. My mental and emotional states are not quite as stable, but most days I'm ok there, too. We're just praying that my body remembers what to do so that I don't have to be induced.

Several of you have mentioned Micah's crazy picture from the last blog post. That morning he discovered that he could cross his eyes. He got a reaction out of me, so he thought it was funny and kept doing it. It was just a coincidence that the picture snapped when only one eye had crossed. ;)

Pool Party

We've really enjoyed the wading pool this summer. It's very disappointing that the pools all close Sunday for the summer. We squeezed in one more play date yesterday. I actually remembered to take pictures, but none of them are very good. :) The kids were playing and having fun for hours, but the only time I managed to catch them was when we sat down for lunch. So none of them are smiling, and most of them have food in their mouths. :)

They didn't make it into any pictures, but Kayla, Joshua, Lotte, Jackson, and Ava were all there, too!

Two and a Half!

Wow. Halfway to three already! Some things about Micah have remained the same - he loves cars, trucks, and trains. He likes to read, and he likes playing ball. He can be really good at playing by himself (like right now), but he can also drive you batty by saying "Whatcha doin'?" every 30 seconds. He can be sweet and adorable, but he can also be whiny and defiant. All-in-all, he's a pretty wonderful little guy. We love him a ton!

One of Micah's favorite games is hide-and-seek. If it's your turn to hide, you'd better be quick! He might count to 20, but he might only give you to 4. Here he is counting to 20 (less "15").

Zoo

After my weekly OB appointment this morning (everything is still fine), Micah and I met Meghan, Carter, and Jackson at the zoo. A new carousel had opened since the last time we were there, and both boys were excited to ride it....until we got in line. Then Micah began to have second thoughts. I made him ride anyway, but promised that I'd hold him if he didn't like it. Oh, well. At least Carter had fun riding the giraffe.
Despite the heat, the boys had a terrific time.
Jackson

They were walking and running the entire time, so I'm sure they're both exhausted now. I know I am! :)

Isolation

Sick kid + responsible parent = boring week. Instead of our usual fun and interesting schedule, the only things on the calendar this week are lunch with Daddy and a doctor's appointment for Mommy. On Monday a care package from the lovely Jenn S. saved me from insanity. (On a side note, what would be a "reasonable" amount of time for me to eat a bag of Rolo's by myself?) And yesterday's treat was a new shirt from cousin Lucy. (Thank you!)

Last night Micah slept through the night AND slept until almost 8am! He still has a cough and feels a little warm at times, but he's acting like himself again. Hopefully we'll be able to re-enter the world of play-dates and social activities very soon.

Getting Better

Micah's fever is almost gone, but he still has a cough and (I suspect) a sore throat. He's feeling good enough to do this: (pajama shirt, jean shorts, and Mommy's shoes...quite an outfit)

but not healthy enough to go play with friends or run and climb at the park. You know how when you're sick you get away with a lot more - watching extra tv, being whiny, eating special foods, etc.? Well the return to normal life is painful. That was our day today. Our plan was to do some errands then go to the library this morning...we didn't make it to the library. Considering the amount of crying and defiance Micah gave me at the store, he's lucky he even made it back home! Hopefully our naps will help both of us to have a better afternoon.
