Micah Soccer

This year we signed Micah up for soccer in Tallmadge (instead of Kent) to help him get to know other Tallmadge kids.  The program is run "academy style" rather than the recreation style we've done in the past.  What a difference!  Micah learned more about footwork in the first twenty minutes of practice than he did in his two previous seasons of soccer.  He loves the challenge of it, and it's been exciting to see him grow.

He enjoys playing midfield, but goalie is fun, too.

Dance Recital

As I mentioned before, Hannah just finished up a session of ballet.  She had been asking to take lessons for months, but I couldn't find a class that worked for our schedule.  Finally, I saw that the rec center was having an 8 week session - no big recital or costumes or added expense.  Perfect.  The instructor was very sweet and fun with the preschoolers.  While she didn't really correct their form on anything, they still learned at least a dozen ballet terms and moves.  The parents were invited to come watch on the last class.

It was Mother's Day, so I told her I got to pick how I was going to do her hair.

this was a rare moment when she didn't have her tongue stuck out in concentration

Sorry, April

What happened to the month of April??  I think I started to write a blog post, but it obviously didn't actually get posted.  So here you go: we had an offer on our house within 24 hours of listing it.  We move into our new house next week.  There's a lot of stuff going on, but I have packing to do!  So here are a few pictures to document our missing time.
We have a huge couch, but these guys love to snuggle.

Hannah is doing soccer again this spring.  She has great coaches, and she's having a blast!  It's so fun to watch her run fast and play aggressively, then happily skip away when the play is done.  She usually either has a smile on her face or her tongue stuck out in concentration.

Look at that face!  She's awesome!

Micah is doing soccer, too, but I guess I haven't taken any pictures yet.
Matthew has switched to a toddler bed, which makes nap time less consistent.  We've had lots of days like this:

 and this:

and sometimes an hour of playing before this:

But he's cute, so I haven't killed him yet.

I have not ever called this type of shirt a "muscle shirt", yet the other day he insisted on changing clothes in the middle of the day to put it on "because it makes me strong".

Dinner out with a lot of my favorite ladies.  Love these people so much!

Micah wrote a great story for the Author's Tea at school.  We were really proud of him.

Hannah is just finishing up a session of ballet.  She LOVES ballet.  I'll do a separate post after her "recital" on Sunday.

She got a video from the library to practice, and Matthew joined in.

One nice morning I jogged pushing Matthew while Hannah rode.  She's practicing riding in a straight line so we can ride with other people around. :)
Hannah had her last day of Chayil for the year.  She will miss it over the summer!
