Matthew's Characters

Matthew has been in a dress-up phase.  Sometimes he wears things from our costume box (pirate, dinosaur, policeman, etc.), but more often lately he creates his own characters.  One day he was in all gray with Micah's ski mask; he said he was a knight.  He has been in all blue (including mittens and head wrap) or all green as "the blue ninja" and "the green ninja".  One day he wore all red, but put black socks on his hands and feet.  He said he was Lightning McQueen and the socks were his wheels.
He has apologized for all the extra laundry he creates, but I don't think he's all that sorry.

The "Target worker" might have been my favorite.

I...I don't even know what this one was....

Eye wear is often involved.  This morning he was wearing a scuba mask before school.

Foster Care

A week ago today we had a little girl join our family.  For her safety and privacy, I won't post her name or face online.  We'll call her "Baby L".  She's a year and a half.  She has been doing amazingly well.  She bonded quickly with Hannah and I.  She seems to like Matthew and Micah now, but she's still wary of Scott.  The greatest blessing is that she's a great sleeper.
We really don't have any answers right now about how long we'll have her or what we should expect.  God has graciously kept me from being anxious thus far about all the unknown things and things that are out of control.

Hannah has been a HUGE help in playing with Baby L and caring for her.
