New Trick

This morning Hannah discovered that she could blow raspberries.  It's pretty cute watching her little cheeks puff out.  So here she is.  (Yes, it's really just 1:45 of her blowing raspberries.  You can just watch the first 15 seconds and you won't miss out on anything.)

Feet

I feel bad that I haven't posted much the past two weeks, but I haven't really been inspired.  So, here's Hannah trying to take her socks off.  Yup.  The life of a stay-at-home-mom is non-stop excitement.

Ok, this is maybe a little bit exciting (compared to socks, that is).  Micah made this snowman at story time yesterday.  Yes, the artistic genius is astounding, but take a look at how he wrote his name.  The only help I gave him was to say the letters (and for "M" I said it goes up-down-up-down).  But he did all the writing himself.  I think it actually looks like his name!  You can totally see a capital "M", lower case "i", backwards "c", "a" with no stick, and capital "H"!
No?  You can't see it?  Well, trust me, it's there. :)

What's So Funny?

I don't know what they're laughing at in either clip, but I guess it doesn't matter if I get it or not.  I'll take laughing over crying any day.

Catching Up

I'm so glad that this little peanut is starting to be a better napper, especially when that napping coincides with Micah's nap.  I was struck useless on Monday with the stomach flu. (Thank goodness SuperDad stepped in to save the day!)  Combine being out of commission for two days, having extra blankets and sheets that need to be de-germed, and some plumbing problems that meant I couldn't do laundry or dishes over the weekend, and the result is a lot of work to be done.  Now I'm off to climb fold my mountains of laundry!

Good Timing

The other night Micah was running in circles calling, "Look at me go!"  It was nothing new, but it was pretty cute.  Since the camera was right next to me, I decided to film him.  I was rewarded with this:

Four Months Old

Wow!  That is one cute little girl!

She wore a cute little skirt with leggings to the toddler dance party yesterday.

Since cousin Abby was doing it, I decided it was time to pull the excersaucer out of the basement for Hannah. She loves it!  She really likes to be upright and have her hands free.  She can grab onto toys pretty easily now, but more often she just likes to chew on her hands.  She continues to be a pretty easy-going baby, with a few exceptions.  She recently stopped sleeping 10-12 hours at night and now wants to eat once or twice a night. :(  I'm really hoping it's a growth spurt that will pass soon.  She's also a lot more aware of what is (or is not) around her.  She gets pretty mad if we ignore her or leave her in a room by herself.  Fortunately, she loves Micah and settles right down if he comes to play or talk with her.

Speaking of Micah, he is having great success using the bathroom!!  We restarted potty training on Monday, and he is doing great!  He goes by himself and hasn't had any accidents in a few days.  [Actually, he just went as I was typing this paragraph!]  I'm not quite ready to take him out of the house without a pull-up, but we're letting him sit on the couch without a towel under him. :)  He is quite proud of himself, and we're pretty proud, too. :)

New Year's

For New Year's Eve Scott and I went out to dinner and to a party.  We hired some excellent babysitters from Indiana to take care of the kids while we were out.  They did such a great job that we let them stay the whole weekend.  I didn't take many pictures, but here they are watching the Rose Bowl Parade.  Micah and Hannah are dancing to the marching band music.  Micah was not impressed with the hosts, though.  He says, "We need those people to get out of the way...so we can see the parade."

"What the...."

What would you do if you were checking on your kid before you went to bed, and you saw this:
You'd freak out, right?  Because kids should be sleeping in their beds, right?  Not mine.  My child has decided that he'd rather sleep on the floor next to his bed.  Yep.  He's so weird.
