First Cousin Once Removed

I had to check Wikkipedia to figure this out (and you can correct me if I'm wrong), but here are all the relatives Micah saw yesterday:
1 aunt
1 uncle
1 first cousin
2 great-uncles
4 great-aunts
1 first cousin-in-law once removed
8 first cousins once removed
and a second cousin

Whew! All that to say that we went to a cookout at Favorite Aunt Helen's house, and had a great time. We let Micah stay up way past his bedtime; he was a little tipsy by the time we left. :)

Headstand!

I know the pictures are fuzzy, but I think it's quite clear that he is trying to do a headstand in the corner of his crib. This is honestly how I found him when I went to get him up from his nap. I could not make this stuff up, people! It's in the genes!

Finger Painting

I tried to do finger painting with Micah last week, but he wasn't very interested. Funny, he'll cover my kitchen with blueberries and carrots, but when I actually want him to make a mess, he walks away!

Mmm....snacks!

Happy Father's Day

Micah is so blessed to have such an amazing father. I am so thankful for my wonderful husband! Happy Father's Day!

"Counting"

Yesterday I was counting something for Micah, and he surprised me by trying to say the numbers with me!

Park with Daddy

Thanks to some beautiful sunny weather, we were able to go to the park on Saturday afternoon. Micah and I also met Daddy at a park near his work yesterday for lunch. Micah loves climbing, sliding, and swinging! He usually goes down the slides on his belly, feet first. It's a relatively safe way for our little daredevil to be able to go down big slides by himself.

Bike Ride

Take a look back at how small Micah was when we first got our bike trailer/jogging stroller. Now look at him!

A few weeks ago we took our bikes out for the first ride of the season. Thanks to the bike rack that Eric and Meredith got us for Christmas, we were able to put Micah's trailer in the RAV4 and both bikes on the back. Yesterday the boys were nice enough to ride along and keep me company while I jogged. Yay for fun family activities!

Nothing

I don't have anything interesting to share, but here's a cute picture of Micah and Ally sharing toys.

Summer Trip #1

This weekend we packed up the car and headed east. Our first stop was near Harrisburg, PA to see 8-week-old Mandy. (Her parents are friends from college.) I was so enamored by her cuteness that I completely forgot to take pictures! Then, since we were in the area, we decided to drop in unannounced on some more friends from college. We got to see Adra show off her walking skills.

Then we got back in the car to go to Alexandria, VA to see our newest niece! Caroline is even cuter than her pictures!

On Saturday we had nice weather for the zoo and a picnic lunch. The adults played games while the babies napped, then we made a quick trip to the pool.

After church and some delicious pancakes, it was time to get in the car again. Micah graciously slept for three hours, then was pretty agreeable for the rest of the trip. Summer vacation has officially begun!

On the Farm

Yesterday Micah and I went to visit our friends Leah, Sarah, and Seth. (Leah and Sarah are two of Micah's favorite babysitters.) They have chickens, turkeys, pigs, and cows. Micah loved it! He was too nervous to touch the little bantam chicken with more than a finger, but the enormous cows didn't seem to bother him at all. He would watch them for a while, then say "Hi! Moo!" As you can see, he also enjoyed "driving" the tractor. On the way home Micah kept making some weird noises that I haven't heard before. I think it was his interpretation of chickens. :)
